Thanks Dave.  I tried RTSP as well as UDP, but didn't get anything.  Are you saying that VLC 1.0 should have worked if I specified RTSP as the protocol?

BTW, your construction cam looks great!

HDVTS and the eclipse video use rtsp <rtsp://@ww.xx.yy.zz>.

I don't know of any currently-operating globally-scoped HD multicast 
using HDVTS.  Are there any out there?
