Sorry for the delay...

We've several shibboleth-sp machines under high load.
We've used the default library versions for the shibboleth-sp software:
log4cpp-0.3.5rc1
opensaml-1.1a
shibboleth-sp-1.3f
xerces-c-src_2_6_1
xml-security-c-1.2.1

Here is an excerpt of the output of `ps` on different production systems
running on :

USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND
root 9413 2.4 1.7 2384304 139048 pts/1 S 11:00 4:40
/usr/sbin/shibd -p /var/run/shibd.pid -f
root 8025 2.8 1.6 2338276 133784 pts/0 S 11:01 5:21
/usr/sbin/shibd -p /var/run/shibd.pid -f
root 8138 2.6 1.5 2459420 120068 pts/1 S 10:56 5:04
/usr/sbin/shibd -p /var/run/shibd.pid -f
root 23284 2.2 1.4 2358484 113704 pts/2 S 11:00 4:14
/usr/sbin/shibd -p /var/run/shibd.pid -f

As you can see, each process uses more than 2GB virtual memory size.

We are forced to restart the proces each day, so the memory is made free.

Any help or debugging information is kindly appreciated.

Philip
