I'm not convinced there's a problem yet. This is the first case of somebody 
building from source and seeing that. Bob used the
binary against a different Apache version, and that's usually a good way to 
break any module, in my experience.

If somebody with Debian can provide us a box to try out, we might be able to 
understand the problem a bit more though, and rule out
a build problem.
