Sort of. It's stablized at this point and I just moved from 7.5 to 9.2
without major trouble.

That's great to hear and I'd chalk up the difference to skill set.  I think the classpath transition happened earlier than that, and I will guarantee that I more blindly copy/paste configuration than you.  It's mostly the old docs that keep getting me and those are ev.ery.where.

I think we will eventually provide an embedded Jetty, just not right away.
But Jetty remains the primary supported container for 3.0.

Curious, would you consider there to have been a "primary supported container" for 2.x, and what does it mean to be the primary supported container?  I'd always seen ecumenicalish docs, including on the root of IdPv3:

Deployers should be aware of the following platform/version requirements for version 3.0:

• Java versions 7 and 8 are supported
• A servlet container implementing Servlet API 3.0 is required, for example:
  • Tomcat 7 or later, or
  • Jetty 8 or later
