Brent;

How are we going to recover from this mess ? What annoucement
will suffice to say that the problem is managable ?

- I suspect that RAMEN will be showing up off and on for months.
Waiting for it to go away is not a good option.

- We have had good apparent results with our rate limits. Of course, it
could be that we are rejecting good MSDP SA's - but these should be
cached from before storms.

So, should there be a general announcement that the problem is
manageable ? Should it go to nanog and inet-access in addition to
these lists ? Or is this premature ?

Another question :

Would it be useful to set a operational multicasting mailing list ?
(To deal with things like attacks, etc - like NANOG, but for multicasters.)
So far we have

- wg-multicast - Internet 2 limited access list, with a heavy operational
content
- mboned - commodity internet list with research, IETF and
operational content
- Ip multicast - mostly "newbie" type questions.

None of these seem like perfect matches for questions of this nature.
A new mail list, of course, would take time to develop an audience.
