A wiki page available at

describes the functionality the Shib Core team is currently thinking of including in the upcoming Shibboleth v2.0 and 2.1 releases. We'd like to ask people to review this document, and provide comments and feedback via email. This note is being sent to both the shib-dev and shib-users email lists, to maximize its distribution. We'd prefer, tho, that discussion of the Roadmap occur on the shib-dev list.

For the immediate future, a major agenda item of the monday afternoon Shibboleth dev conference calls will be discussion of 1) feedback we get on the roadmap and 2) how we implement the functionality described in the roadmap. Members of the Shibboleth community are invited to join those calls, and contribute to the discussion.

Hi Steven and All,

My apologies for the late feedback, but important deadlines have prevented me to follow this mailing list with the deserved attention. I think I've now read all relevant messages in this thread and in what it concerns our project needs everything that has been proposed (and I understand) for Shibboleth 2.0 and 2.1 seems suitable.

Steven, I know that you have already mentioned at the shibboleth- users mailing list that the Constrained Delegation Profile (or its new incarnation after the Shibboleth/Liberty/OASIS standardisation effort) should go to version 2.1. We understand and agree that there are other priorities and external dependencies. We also think this profile is really a feature that a lot of national efforts (e.g. JISC, SWITCH, MAMS) and projects (e.g. SPIE, GridShib) are dependent on, in order to achieve effective solutions using uniquely Shibboleth. So, I would like to ask you not to forget this profile and included it in Shibboleth 2.x as soon as possible.

Hope this is useful and timely.
Regards,
