Hmm, so I guess the answer is to have Derek ssh in and perform all the
installs? ;-)

Just a thought...I think my package has a shire.logger config file
pointing at shire.log in the /opt tree. Does your Apache have access to
it? If it does, did you have to change permissions for that?
