Hi Scott; Great, thanks for the clarification. I can't think of a single case where 'root' would be required. I typically just 'sudo command' when looking at logs or managing the start/stop of the tools. It should also be noted that OWAMP, BWCTL, and NPAD all run with non-root privileges. The NDT tools does pkt-pair timings by placing the interface in promiscuous mode so it does run as root. However, managing this tool from inside the sudo framework works correctly.
