Hi Matt;

Drat! Sorry about that. I also re-ran some more tests and found that yes, the 3.1.13 web100clt process does not work with the 3.1.4 based server. Sorry for the misleading statements.

Can you try looking at the 3.1.4b version again. Run it against one of the Abilene based servers (ndt-newyork.abliene.ucaid.edu or one of the other servers listed on the http://e2epi.internet2.edu/ndt/ndt-server-list.html web page. I can look at these servers to debug problems (I don't have access to the miranda server any more).

With your 3.1.13 tarball...

$ ./web100clt -dddddd -llllll miranda.ctd.anl.gov
Testing network path for configuration and performance problems --
Using IPv4 addresses
read 1 octets '0'
Test port numbers not received, read 2nd packet to get them
Testing will begin using port 3003 and 3002
connecting to 146.137.222.101:3003

Send buffer set to 32768, Receive buffer set to 57344
Checking for Middleboxes . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . CWND
limited speed = Inf Kbps
Done

And then nothing. I did an strace on the process and all I see is
"read(3, ".

Matt;

I just uploaded the ndt-3.1.13.tar.gz tarball to the
e2epi.internet2.edu/ndt/downloads page. The web100clt should be
compatible with the server running on miranda.ctd.anl.gov It works
from my FreeBSD and Linux 2.4.24 test systems.

Let us know what happens.

read failed read 'Go' flag

Here is the debug output:

$ ./web100clt -dddddd miranda.ctd.anl.gov

Is there a better version of NDT that I should be using? I tried
the version linked from the E2EPI website (3.1.4b), but that fails
with an EPIPE error.

$ ./web100clt -dddddd miranda.ctd.anl.gov

running 10s outbound test (client to server) . . . . .
Send buffer set to 32768, Receive buffer set to 57344

Thanks in advance for your help.
