If you mean the I2MI profile concept of scoped attributes developed for use
with eduPerson, subclasses of SAMLAttribute can be used that override the
valueToDOM and valueFromDOM methods to customize the processing of
attributes.

OpenSAML only handles string-valued information without extensions.
