Does Cisco support calls from IP to PSTN using anything other than
G.711u or a-law codecs on the 2600 series boxes? I didn't think they
did but this belief is based on very basic testing on my part. I have the
codec complexity, codec prefence list and dial-peers setup to select
the codec with g.711a/u law always last yet only these two codecs
work for calls to the PSTN.

I've seen this sort of behavior with other UAs calling through Cisco 2600 with codecs other than G.711 advertised by the UA. I don't know how to handle this, since the INVITE is where the SIP endpoints are supposed to negotiate codec.
