FYI, IGMPv3 is implemented in Microsoft OS since 2001, MLDv2 will come
with Longhorn.
Linux implement both protocols since 2002 now and Solaris provided
patch since April 2004
PIM supports SSM natively, only address ranges for multicast semantics
are standardized.

The thing is that the only major OS which do not implements
IGMPv3/MLDv2 without
patching are the *BSD series. I have heard that macOS is *BSD based,
that's why this IPR issue
gaves me a lot of fun : everyone package it natively, only the IPR
issuer didn't :)
