Kevin;

I knew someone would say something like this. Look at us (OnTheI.com)
we have been multicasting for two years now (yes, really), our audience
is growing exponentially (doubling time = 5 months), our web site gets
over 600,000 hits per month, and yet, if you type
"multicast internet radio" into google, we start appearing at number 19 (a now
irrelevant press release) and # 20 is the first real reference - 3 pages into
it if you use the default google page size.

Unless you have really deep pockets, it is extraordinarily diifficult to
make
yourself known on the WWW amoung the billion or so other web pages out there.
Yes, there are web sites devoted to lists of internet broadcast sites but they
also have the problem of distinguishing themselves from the crowd on
the WWW. Virtualtuner.com is one of the best, and we rank high there, but
we get 5 times more people coming to the site from google than from
virtualtuner.

So, I have said before, and will say again, there is definitely a place in
the SSM world for some sort of SAP like tuner advertisements. It will happen,
hopefully without negatively affecting certain protocols the way that SDR
does.

Regards
Marshall
