This says that you're getting a response but an mtrace bug
causes it not to properly receive it.  As far as I know, this bug
was fixed in mtrace 5.1, released in 1996.  I'd recommend upgrading
to a newer mtrace, perhaps

since when your debugging tools are buggy you can't really count on
their output.
