How often is your SDP packet sent ?? If your SDR is configured
with default 20 or 40 or how many minutes, this state should in an ideal
network disappear in say 5-6 minutes - if it stays there even after these
5-6 minutes
(and if the RPF check suggested by Bill for your RP does not fail somewhere
on the way)
then you hit the PIM non-register problem covered by CSCdp68820 and
explained in
details by a message of your colleague Matthew Davy
<>
from
February 2000 I believe - available at
http://www.dante.net/mbone/nop/sm_non.html
(also with my own animation -)).
Check the IOS version of your Designated router, responsible for the PIM
register
of this SDP packet and let us know please.
