Your messages have been very useful to me personally so I can learn how 
you approach things.  We're not at all looking to characterize anyone 
as right or wrong, and everyone has different ways of doing things.  
This is one of the best things about working in groups.

It's incumbent on us as developers to enable as many of these different 
ways as possible, and to guide prospective deployers towards what we 
feel is the best method for them.  I'd like to tentatively suggest we 
continue to make every effort to facilitate, simplify, and support 
self-contained deployments, but recognize that the easiest option for 
most deployers will be bringing up the component they're primarily 
interested in and plugging it into an infrastructure we know works.
