Ok - so it just seems like a year :)..
 
But JDK 1.4 has been out for several years - there just isn't any point in supporting 1.3 for server-side apps.

No, it hasn't. The final version of Sun's JDK 1.5 shipped on September
30, 2004. Apple's was only made available a few weeks ago. As far as I
can tell, IBM still doesn't have one. And HP and BEA have only had their
1.5 JDKs out for a few months. I'm a big fan of 1.5, but it's still very
new.
