I guess there's a difference between compiling it on 1.3 and running it on
1.3. Java's weird.

The first step to me is compiling it. Since I don't think that will work,
that's the first thing to overcome, finding all the newer classes.

Beyond that, I don't have the discipline to write test cases that cover the
code. There's a signature test case and a SOAP test case that do a pretty
good job of testing the advanced features and a few test cases for basic
objects.

Yes, that's why we only have that length of time to do it.
