FTR, I _DID_ just try with a clean tree, and no, it did not fix this
problem.  I still need to remove the libxmlsec.la file or I get the
wrong set of libraries.

This might be ok if there were some way to put our own copies of xml2
and xslt BEFORE xmlsec..
