You indeed are very consistent in your steps. The problem that you have is that you have messed up with source and destination.

It is not clear to me how did you came to the conclusion that the data you are looking at in the MA is indeed about the results from .e.kenet.or.ke to n.kenet.or.ke. Obviously you are making a mistake by looking at the wrong measurements results. You should read more closely on the details of the results page of the graph (the small window)(the one you have attached). You will see there that it states: reverse throughput = meaning the measurement results on the reverse from what is on the title of the web page = meaning that these are the results from .n.kenet.or.ke to e.kenet.or.ke.

I need to investigate this more closely next time I have a setup like this to hand :-)

One strange thing I did notice though. I ran the tests with "force_bidirectional 0" for a while (overnight one night). I *think* the generated regular_testing.conf had "send_only 1" for both owamp and bwctl tests, but cannot be sure as I didn't capture those files.

However in the graphs which were generated for that period, there was a *solid* blue line for the throughput but a *dotted* brown line for the latency. This suggests that throughput was outbound while owamp was inbound, or vice versa.

http://pfsnr-ph.kenet.or.ke/serviceTest/graphWidget.cgi?source=197.136.30.1&dest=197.136.25.1&url="http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%2Fesmond%2Fperfsonar%2Farchive%2F#timeframe=1d&start_ts=1441828800&end_ts=1441882800

(The long straight brown line is just joining from where the bidirectional was turned off to where it was turned on again)

Like I say, I need to set this up again to test. It is possible that it generated "send_only" for bwctl and "receive_only" for owamp (or vice versa), but I think that would be a strange thing for the mesh config to do.

Brian.

P.S. The nodes got renamed since previous mails, but the IP addresses remain the same.
