Hi All,
Once again, thanks to Dan and Michael for the great presentation yesterday and to all of the participants. An excellent suggestion to share the contents of the call chat window was sent after i sent the message yesterday so it is attached here.

Also, during the call, some expressed interest in continuing this conversation. The Security Working Group does focus on DDoS mitigation and all are welcome to join the list for the Security Working Group. The instructions for doing so are here:

Send a message to  from the address you want to subscribe to the list.

In the subject line of your message, type in: subscribe security-wg Firstname Name (replace 'nameofthelist' by the name of the list you want to subscribe to and indicate your own first name and name). Leave the message body blank.

Thanks and let me know what questions you have.

Hi All,
Thanks to everyone for joining the call today. Thanks to Michael Hare and Dan Dargel for their excellent presentation today. Here is the link to the recording from Michael Hare (U of Wisconsin-Madison) and Dan Dargel’s (University of Wisconsin-Platteville) presentation:

Their presentations are attached here.

We are seeking presentations showcasing what people are doing to deal with DDoS attacks so please send any ideas to me.

Thanks again for joining and let me know what questions or comments you have.

We are hearing from the community that they are interested in learning about DDoS mitigation strategies and tools. On behalf of Internet2 Network Services, the Quilt and the Internet2 Security Working Group, I am pleased to announce that on Tuesday, November 17, 2:30-3:30 ET, we will have a webinar led by Dan Dargel, University of Wisconsin-Platteville and Michael Hare, University of Wisconsin-Madison and they will talk about FastNetMon and other tools that they are using to detect, monitor and respond to DDoS attacks. This will be a more technical talk so please send this along to those within your organizations with interest in hearing about these tools. Please mark your calendars for that day. We will send call details soon. In the meantime, please let me know what questions you have. Thanks.

Linda
