Thanks Scott. Your answer prompts me to ask when will Shibboleth 2.0 be

More or less when Shibboleth 2.0 is done, the same answer I gave last
week.
Chad will continue doing packaged prereleases of Java in advance of
that, but as a matter of API stability, we can't freeze until Shibboleth
ships.
Shibboleth is the driver, not the other way around.
