I now realise that the QuickStart README.html file does not mention some 
relevant ant targets. From the grouper-qs directory, in addition to 'ant 
ui', you can also type:

ant db - starts the database
ant dbgui - starts the database manager app.

If you just type 'ant' the three possible targets are listed. I have 
updated the relevant doc in CVS.
