All,
I was going to put this on tomorrow's agenda but it might be
better to see if some quick consensus can be reached via email, if
only to help speed the program committee's decision. I'm beginning
to be a little concerned about lead time to the SMM and the
increasing potential difficulty of getting on speakers' schedules.
I think everyone is aware that Radvision is a valued Internet2
partner and produces excellent products. I've had conversations
with them a couple of times about joining our calls but to date
that hasn't happened. Adi's proposal certainly makes sense to me
but I'm not sure how it might fit into our proposal for the SMM.
Possibly this is just because we haven't yet worked together.
I'm not sure what to say. Thoughts, please?

Subject: Spring Member Meeting proposal
Jeremy & Michael,
Contacting you on behalf of the SMM program committee. Asking your views.
Jeremy, would a modified version of the following proposal be appropriate for inclusion in the PIC session?
As an alternative Todd Needham, as member of program committee, suggested a IM panel with representation from WG, Yahoo and Microsoft. Michael, your thoughts?

Presence-Based Multimedia Communications
Instant Messaging and presence is becoming the watchword and underlying communications architecture of today?s enterprise network. Whether IM came into the enterprise virally or through a decision by the IT manger, presence-based communications is become an important way people communicate. As IM becomes par of a larger communications strategy, how does the IT manger integrate it into a larger desktop multimedia communications architect of voice, video, and data communications and collaboration? In this session we will explore the architecture of Instant Messaging and presence and then discuss how it can be used as a tool for initiating an ad hoc point to point or multipoint conference. After that we will discuss other IT issues such as supporting other protocols, inviting in other non-IM video/voice end points, scheduling, scalability, deployment.
Adi Regev, RADVISION
Thanks for your help,
