Hi all,
I know there have been other problems using QT Broadcaster and multicast relays in QTSS, so I came up with some documentation, but not sure it's totally correct.

If someone has a chance to scan it for inaccuracies, and/or also let me know if the multicast test (not optimized by any means) is working, I would appreciate it. The sdp file in QTSS/Movies can of course be created by other encoders.

We usually use Wirecast for live encoding, and I realize QT Broadcaster and Wirecast can both multicast without a relay, but wanted to test out the relays...and also placing the multicast sdp file on a regular web server.

Directions at
http://nutmeg.conncoll.edu/wiki/index.php/QTBroadcaster
(I also would like to write up directions for creating the relay in the web admin, for DSS users)

Test stream at
http://136.244.12.62/mc/broadcaster-1mc.sdp
(use QT Player or VLC for client)

Thanks,

Thanks for the responses - the stream is not being sent via multicast - the multicast request is failing and the QTSS server fails back and serves up a unicast stream.
We are looking into why the multicast announcements are not working. More soon hopefully.
