Morning all,
I've just popped VLC 0.8.6c onto a laptop running Vista Enterprise and it's behaving rather strangely with multicast traffic. For starters it's not seeing any SAP announcements when I turn them on in the playlist when an OS X box on the same switch is seeing all the usual stuff we carry on JANET and our local announces. Secondly, manually entering an address such as udp://@233.80.58.114:5000 results in nothing being played back. If I play the same stream (it's BBC 6music) in Inuk's Freewire client, however, it works fine and VLC will also then play the stream and continue to play after the Freewire client is closed. It's almost as if VLC isn't instructing the IP stack to do group joins properly but once another, more compliant, application does the work VLC can then listen.

I've done some brief Googling but not turned anything up like this so wondered if folk on the list had had similar experiences?
