Does anyone have any experience with storm control on cisco catalyst
switches?
In reading the documentation it states that if Multicast exceeds the set
threshold
then the switch drops all multicast, broadcast, unicast until traffic
goes below
the set threshold. Does this match people experiences?
It looks like Storm control is an In-bound feature, not an out-bound.
I had wanted to use this feature to turn off multicast on ports
connected
to hubs.
To looks like what I really want to use is the "switchport block
multicast"
which looks like an out-bound feature. I would really like a feature
that
would allow me to throttle out bound multicast, not just block it on a
switch
port, does anyone know of such a feature?
Thanks,
-Roy
