Shibboleth Developers

I am trying to deploy the Shibboleth 2.0 SP RC1 with IIS (on Windows 2003 server), and I seem to be hitting a strange brick wall.  I have IIS setup and running.  I can hit some simple test pages, but I don’t have any real applications running.  As soon as I install Shibboleth 2.0 SP RC1, IIS fails.  I see no errors in the Shibboleth logfiles, so I am unsure how to debug the issue.  The Windows 2003 event logger includes the following error (unfortunately I don’t see any useful info here):

 

The HTTP Filter DLL C:\opt\shibboleth-sp\libexec\isapi_shib.dll failed to load.  The data is the error.

This machine was running Shibboleth 1.3, which I uninstalled, verified IIS was working, and then installed Shibboleth 2.0.  I glanced at the wiki, and the only thing that stood out was making sure the logfile directory was writeable by IIS.  I did update the permissions of that directory, but that made no difference.

 

Any clues as how to debug this?
