Nope, only DCE (and Windows) does, plus Ted ported a version for his
utilities, for some reason. The only reason Linux usually has one is
that it uses ext2, so his file system utilities are typically included.
I went looking for an easier source, but didn't find one at the time.
Ted suggests on his project page that he wants to externalize that
library, but he hasn't yet.
Now that I understand autoconf somewhat, I might be able to try a hand
at it myself.
would it make sense to take libuuid out of the make file (at least in attempting to compile it)...
and see if anything else has problems with the compiler?
not that compiling proves it'll run..... but not compiling certainly makes it harder to run (-:
