What 10GE NICs are most poplar these days? I am looking for a single port SFP+ NIC.

Hi Dan,

Myricom and Broadcom were used in the community with success. The advantage over Intel is that one could use general optics there without any setting modifications.
I have been using Intel X520-DA2 with no problems; however this is with SFP+ direct-attach cables so I've not been exposed to any issues with optic module compatibility. (FWIW, non-Intel direct-attach cables work fine)

You are paying for two ports whether or not you use them. The last time I checked, the one-port version was about the same price, and difficult to get hold of.

Brian Candler.
