This is not a Perl problem! It's only an RPM problem! Perl RPMs for Fedora
expect the dependency 'perl(:MODULE_COMPAT_5.8.8)'. This dependency is simply
unknown in the openSUSE RPM system. I just tried to find it on my openSUSE
workstation and haven't found anything similar.

No. It has nothing to do with the Perl version itself. It's really only the
RPM system that has problems.
