Hi,

Yes, the service.properties file is necessary to diagnose the problem.
Basically, if you choose "http" connector URL to your exist db must start with "http://"; and if you choose "xmlrpc" connector the URL must start with (I don't rememeber exactly) "xmldb:exist//".
