Hi,

according to this survey 
(http://news.softpedia.com/news/Ubuntu-and-Red-Hat-are-Top-Open-Source-Vendors-78441.shtml),
 
Red Hat has a share of 35%, Ubuntu has 23%. So I would dare to say, that more 
people are using Red Hat than Ubuntu. This may change in the future, but I 
would not speculate that RPM-based is less used than debian-based or vice 
versa. Both is common and will probaly stay common for quite a while.
