Hi Roman and Szymon,
I can think of the following last steps before finalizing the structure:
1. The doc directory:
We need to create the following directories under doc
/javadoc (mandatory for java based web services)
/schemas (mandatory for all web service software)
Who is going to do this?
2. Can you create a document explaining the svn structure?
"You" mean - Roman and me?
I'm ok with helping Roman. Roman?
I thought that work had been done by us during Cambridge meeting and published on the wiki by Loukik. If there are some differences the wiki page with the structure could be updated (Loukik can you do it. I'm still working on ma services in the new structure and the performance issue as well).
Could you ask other service developers did they use documentation of ant targets from the last release? I can prepare short description of ant base package but I don't think long and detailed explanation is good here. The best solution is to use existing rrd (or sql) ma ant scripts as examples.
The document should clearly state which directories are mandatory, which ones are optional and where should files be stored (including types of files). The information here: http://wiki.perfsonar.net/jra1-wiki/index.php/New_SVN_Structure_2007 should help with some content for this document.
The purpose of this document is to ensure that similar structure is followed and information is organized in a similar manner. The target audience for this document should be new developers.
3. Specifications of perfSONAR base
From release management point of view, our interests are to make sure that functionality available in perfSONAR base (especially the ant targets) are widely used and not re-created unnecessarily. This helps in easy maintenance.
For this, we need some kind of a specifications document which explains what features are available and how to make use of them. (especially the ant targets).
Roman
I'm not sure I understood this document. We already have spec for ant targets. And who is going to write it as pSbase contains components written by a few people.
Could you also please specify some deadlines?
