Hi,

several users have asked to have something really simple for installing perfsonar web-services.
As way of facilitating means, I have heard of HELL (DFN plan) and VMWare.

Could someone explain me:
a) what is HELL
b) what is its difference with VMWare
c) are there other system that could allow someone to deploy quickly and easily some tools.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Best regards,
Hi Nicolas,

I don't know much about HELL. To sum-up, VMWare is a virtualization
solution managing Virtual Machine (VM).
A VM is basically a file containing a full OS with software
pre-installed. (such as PerfSONAR)

If you want to disseminate PerfSONAR, just distribute the image (cut-and
paste or ftp etc .).
Install a VMWare server host and tell him to start the VM image.

Just change the Network configuration, perform the final stitching
And it's done.

Don't hesitate to contact me should you need additional information.
