I'll second Frank's recommendation of the Logitech BCC950. We own 10 of these now and use them for videoconferencing connections with partners around the world. I would recommend that you look at BlueJeans for video, as well. It's vastly superior to Skype and Hangouts.

Dear Videoconference Experts,

Hello! 

I would like to use an external video camera --

that can zoom in and out -- with my MacBook Pro 

for videoconferencing (Skype, Google Hangout, etc).

 

The MacBook Pro has USB and Firewire ports.

I am wondering if there are video cameras that 

can zoom that would send a video image into 

one of these ports.

I would be most grateful for any suggestions 

regarding how to do this.
