If you don’t need PTZ – we have had great luck with the Microsoft Lifecam Studio.  The mic on this cam works better than any we have used and the video is excellent as well. We have use it for Scopia and Panopto all the time and various faculty have used it for Skype, Connect, and other various capture and collaboration tools.

We offer a Video production course to middle school students. Can anyone recommend the best video camera that interfaces with a MAC Book? I believe we had Sony Camcorders and students had trouble downloading the video.

Good morning all,

I’ve had great success with the Logitech BCC950.  It has given me much greater video control while skyping in the classroom. Cost is about $250

Dear Videoconference Experts,

Hello!

I would like to use an external video camera --

that can zoom in and out -- with my MacBook Pro

for videoconferencing (Skype, Google Hangout, etc).

The MacBook Pro has USB and Firewire ports.

I am wondering if there are video cameras that

can zoom that would send a video image into

one of these ports.

I would be most grateful for any suggestions

regarding how to do this.

Many thanks,
