Will support for SAML 2.0 metadata be pushed back into OpenSAML 1.1?
If so, when might this happen and what would the packaging look like?

For what it's worth, here's our particular use case. Globus Toolkit
is currently at OpenSAML 0.8, using it primarily for authz decision
queries. GridShib is based on SAML 1.1 and will ultimately consume
SAML 2.0 metadata (from GridShib IdPs). Best case scenario for us is
a separate packaging of a metadata library with no dependency on
OpenSAML proper. This would take the pressure off GT to upgrade from
0.8 to 1.1 (which is nontrivial as it turns out) and still give GT and
GridShib the metadata functionality they need.

Thanks,
Tom
