If only to keep your spirits up. We use postgres. Mostly because when we started that what our DBAs recommended. We are considering migrating to some cloud or other. If AWS it will be Aurora (postgres). If Google it will still be just postgres. I've tried both and both seem to work well.

Unfortunately, after more than a week, this query garnered only one response
on the list, and I have email from another organization which indicated their
choice. Nor have I independent confirmation that TIER is using MariaDB. These
paltry results may be summarized so far as:

MariaDB: 1
MySQL: 1
Oracle: 1
