You are saying the connecting user couldn’t select from the tables?  We could 
probably improve this at some point...

That was indeed the issue.  The configured user didn't have the
right privs on the grouper tables.

Probably won't affect anyone else, but sql generating script maybe
could just abort if it can't read the tables.
