Initially I was using a ldappcng built from source, but I can
reproduce the behavior using this binary version:

http://www.internet2.edu/grouper/release/1.6.1/grouper.ldappcng-1.6.1.tar.gz

The details are:

I will look into jstack as Chris suggests and get back to you.
