2) A persistent queueing mechanism for pending SPML updates that handles multiple provisioning targets

+1 for SPML from me, at least to give it a good shot. Seems to me this is one of those areas where there has been a great deal of wheel-reinvention among us universities, and it would be really nice to move to a standard. I don't think "just use LDAP" solves the problem.
