At UW we use a completely separate UI for those multiple group operations. 
It works something like a wizard, allowing a user to select groups, select 
subjects, and then select an operation: add members, remove members,
add admins, etc.   Our principal UI is very group oriented and there was
no obvious way to fit the 'multiple group' page into it.
