By default its 14 days, though its configurable.  Not sure all the info you 
need is in there, but feel free and try, hopefully it is :)

# number of days to retain db rows in grouper_change_log_entry.  -1 is 
forever.  default is 14
loader.retain.db.change_log_entry.days=14

Actually, I guess I should query the changelog (or audit table) to
determine the identifiers of objects which have changed since some
point in time. That may be way better.

Can I query the changelog without a consumer ? will events roll off
the changelog at some interval ?
