Hi Mark (and everyone else)...

Dan Ellentuck of Columbia and I are trying to get up to speed on  
Grouper in order to see where the work Dan's doing for uPortal and  
Grouper intersect to see how we can make sure that uPortal conforms  
to some meaningful standards.  JA-SIG had a conference early last  
week, and in a Developer meeting one of the topics was groups and  
permissions.  One of the tasks currently underway is to separate out  
the uPortal Groups and Permissions modules into a standalone  
application.

So, any input that anyone might have on how Grouper could be used to  
this end would be very welcome.  I'm sure we'll have some discussion  
topics to bring up and Dan and I learn more about the good work you  
all have done so far...

We're looking forward to it!  Anything you might want to add to our  
Wiki page would be great, too.
