I'd been pinging emails back and forth with folks over the past few days about some "basic" SIP enabled phones at  a reasonable price.  We've been buying the Cisco 7960SIP phones - and they're running about $500 which obviously is not going to scale.

I had not really followed Cisco's product line lately, and am kind of impressed. http://www.cisco.com/go/ipphones

One of GU's initial application of the Broadsoft/PaeTec I2 system is to replace the existing Analog Centrex phones we've had as back up to our PBX on campus.  Many of these area's/offices only need single line functionality.  $200/phone is getting close to "scaleability" .  The payback on the investment in the IP phone at $200/phone is about 14 months - which from my perspective is fairly reasonable.

Hi Chris,

Cisco CP-7902G IP Phone is $170, including license, list price.  Power cord is $55, but most customers use in-line power.  All depends on the functionality you're looking for.  Plus we've shipped over a million phones in the last year alone.  Maybe it's time for a product update.
