all,

the HD looks really great. too bad one can't always get the slides and the presenter
in the same single HD video--that would reduce complexity enormously. seems like
either the relative sizes of the presenter v. presentation are too disparate or the lighting
is too different for a single setting. or both! i suppose if i could always design the
setting myself.....

at least in one setting i will be trying to do exactly this--one HD cam for the live
presenter and presentation right next to each other.

oh, ok, the camera moved, now both are in the same shot. btw, the slides look very
readable, even though it's only taking about half the vertical space. and the presenter
looks better than the SD stream, though smaller. now if i could just in real time cut
and enlarge and move the presenter closer, it would be a nice use of the HD aspect ratio.

any suggestions for the easiest/cheapest way to do that????

I can confirm as well. HD looks great on the final MacOS VLC 8.x version, really messed up on MacOS VLC 9.x

all,

following up on the version 8 working better than 9, this is true for me also
on a mac and on windows. what's going on? has there been some basic setting
changed by default that needs to be changed? does anyones notice this?

thanks,

Actually it was just me. Using VLC 9 on a mac, it looked terrible. Using VLC 8 on the same system, it looks great.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately the HD stream is not working well enough for me to watch it here. The SD feed looks good however. It could be something on our end, but generally we have been able to get 25 Mbps multicast streams in the past.

Hi all,

We're currently sending multicast streams from Internet2/ESCC Joint Techs Workshop in College Station, TX. There are three multicast streams:

HD MPEG2 (25 Mbps)
233.45.17.248:4444

SD MPEG2 (6 Mbps)
233.45.17.245:4444

DVTS (SD) (30 Mbps)
233.45.17.247:8000

More info on this event (including unicast streamtypes and Adobe Acrobat Connect session information) is available here: <http://jointtechs.es.net/texas2009/>

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks,
Ben
