We've just converted one of our networks to MPLS based L3 VPN's with  
Rosen/MDT for multicast.  We've not tried the BGP based multicast  
solution as of yet.

Platform wise, we are on T and M series running 8.4.  The most  
informative URL that I've found in Juniper's documentation is:

The most important parts are to insure that you have working PIM-SM  
in the native instance, have the right groups configured for the VRF  
instance and that PIM comes up on your MT interfaces to the other PE's.
