You sure that HP switch supports IGMPv3 ? If it does not then it would
simply flood unrecognized IGMP messages (like the IGMPv3 membership
reports) but because it doesn't recognize them, it wouldn't establish
forwarding, so even though everything looks correct on router and host,
the switch would block the traffic.

If in doubt, simply switch off IGMP Snooping. It's not as if the little
bit of multicast would hurt any current PC - it's really only an issue
if you still have 10Mbps segments or really old hosts.
