All things related to multicast

   This may be rather naive (I'm not a network guru!) but what sort of
filtering could be done to prevent this?  I don't think SSM is the best
answer for all multicast uses.  I thought someone had recommended using
access lists to limit the packet types within the multicast range (maybe
just to udp?) but I'm not sure what the gotchas are and perhaps the
statd stuff is udp rather than tcp.   Marty
